Types Of Leaves In India

  1. Casual Leave (CL)

These leaves also require prior approval from the HR manager. It can be used for brief durations. You can avail 3 to 7 days of casual leaves; however, it varies from company to company.

In any kind of medical emergency, the employees can request these leaves.  If they fall sick and can’t work then just apply at that time and get it approved by HR. If there are more than 2 days, then employees should submit a medical certificate. 

  1. Leave without pay (LWP)

If the employee used all their CL, and PL and still needs more leaves, the extra leaves result in a loss of pay. Your per-day pay is deducted if you take 1 LWP. 

  1. Compensatory off or Comp off

When an employee works extra hours or works during holidays, they're compensated with additional leaves. These leaves are less than equal to the number of holidays worked by them. For better understanding, you need to consider your company's leave management system policy. 

  1. Maternity Leave (ML)

Women employees are eligible for some paid leaves as maternity leaves after one age under pregnancy, In India. Under the leave management system India policy, leaves are provided after they worked for a minimum of 80 days during the 12-month period preceding the delivery date.   1. Marriage Leave

  1. Paternity Leave

  1. Bereavement Leave

As per the name, the employee can get leave when there is a death in his or her family. This leave is provided so they can perform a relative's last rites and participate in grieve ceremony. You can take leave for around 2 to 20 days under your company policy.
